Frank Black Middle School's tennis club is hosting a doubles tournament on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Waltrip High School tennis facility. This one-day event begins at 7:00 a.m.  Doubles teams, boys, and girls  will compete in a format similar to the U.S. Open mixed doubles. Trophies will be presented to the winners.

Boys: Waltrip High School

Girls: The Heights High School

• Start Time will be at 7:00 am. Courts will open at 6:45 for warm-up
• All teams must check in at the tournament desk by 7:00 am
• Format will be double elimination, meaning you have to lose twice.
  • 4 game set, no ad scoring. First team to win 4 games win by 1 so at 3-3, next game wins the match
  • The Finals will be a 6 game set, no ad scoring
• Players spin the racket to choose to serve or side
• When returning serve, players must pick a side of the court and stay there the entire game. 
• Server must call the match score out before the first serve of that game, as well as the game score before each point.
• Line calls are made by the team where the ball landed
  • If there is any doubt, the point goes to the opponent
  • If there is a disputed line call, request the umpire
• Once the game is finished, shake hands, and the winner returns the balls to the tournament desk and reports the score
• Make sure you are in the desk area to hear your next match called
