The Frank Black Middle School Tennis Team is ready for an exciting 2026 Spring season! Our expanded schedule offers more opportunities to play and improve.

All 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade Panthers can join our rapidly growing program and take advantage of four courts—two newly refurbished full-size tennis courts and two orange-ball (pickleball) courts—conveniently located on the north side of campus. These state-of-the-art facilities are made possible by the incredible generosity of our community during the 2025 fundraiser—thank you!

Building on the success of our Fall 2025 tournament schedule, our Spring 2026 matches will feature top-ranked middle schools across Houston. Don't miss out—join the Panthers tennis team and be part of something special!

When: Beginning with the March 17, 2026, kick-off event, the Competitive team will meet on Tuesday and Thursday, and the Development team will meet on Monday and Wednesday, both at 7 am. Additionally, the Saturday 7:30 am doubles clinic is open to all FBMS tennis players.

What: The Development team program will follow a curriculum, while the Competitive team will focus on refining winning strategies and offensive match-play tactics.

Team assignments: Participation on the Competitive team is based on Universal Tennis Rating, USTA tournament results, and other FBMS competitive matches. All team assignment questions should be directed to Coach Charles at 940-337-5400. 

Spring 2026 Matches: Coach Charles and Booster Club leader Carrie Brawley have scheduled dual meets against other middle schools for the Spring 2026 season. Additionally, FBMS is hosting a HISD doubles championship tournament on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at various tennis facilities, including FBMS.
