The Houston Independent School District (HISD) has concluded the 2026 spring district tennis tournaments, with the competition in Districts 5A and 6A wrapping up both singles and doubles play. These district tournaments are part of the broader University Interscholastic League (UIL) spring season and showcased intense competition among high schools in the Houston area.

As of April 1, results from HISD Districts 5A and 6A have confirmed several champions in boys' and girls' singles and doubles, highlighting the remarkable talent nurtured by Space City Tennis's Next-Gen coaching staff. The top finishers from Districts 5A and 6A will now look forward to the regional competitions, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the UIL State Tennis Championships.

"This season has demonstrated the dedication our young athletes put in, both on and off the court," said Space City Tennis Coach Koko (Karen Hackett). "Seeing them compete at the district level and come out on top is incredibly rewarding."

Space City Tennis has established a strong reputation in the Houston area for its comprehensive coaching and commitment to student development, successfully bridging the gap between Orange Ball beginners and school team success. The Next-Gen coaching staff consists of nine dedicated men and women who continually elevate the level of play for every student-athlete.

The HISD tennis programs at Waltrip High School, Heights High School, and Frank Black Middle School are once again showcasing the vibrant tennis community in the 77018 area of northwest Houston.

Congratulations to all the champions, coaches, and participants from the 2026 HISD District 5A and 6A tournaments!
